Earlier this year we helped Daniel create his dream proposal to his now Fiancée Ella. #SpoilerAlert she said yes.
Daniel went skiing as a child and it was one of his fondest childhood memories. He was therefore very keen to share this experience with his girlfriend Ella who had never been skiing before. Unbeknownst to Ella, Daniel had great plans of a proposal up his sleeve on their trip to Austria...
Daniel approached the Romance Engineers for advice and we were delighted to be able to assist him with his dream proposal. Daniel was really excited about the proposal. He had great ideas and knew exactly what he wanted to do but just wasn't sure exactly how to go about it, so we met with Daniel for a Romance consultation to hear about his plans and to find out more about him and Ella. One thing that stood out from our meeting was that Daniel was confused about the engagement ring. How much to spend? Where is the best place to buy it? What's the difference in quality? So we agreed to help Daniel with our Engagement Ring Support service. We used our experience to advise Daniel and went along with him to visit a number of jewellers in the search for the engagement ring.
Daniel was planning on proposing to Ella on their Skiing Holiday in Westendorf, Austria, a gift he had bought for Ella's birthday. Quite the romantic, Daniel had been planning this proposal at the time of purchasing the holiday, which was almost a year in advance. One thing that was really important to Daniel was to capture this special moment on camera, as although he had been preparing for this moment for over a year, the actual proposal would happen very quickly for the unsuspecting Ella. Daniel wanted to make sure that she could relive the moment again and again for years to come and also be able to share the special moment with friends and family.
We began the planning phase and agreed to travel to Westendorf to set up the proposal and capture the proposal on film.
After conducting some research on Daniel's behalf and consulting with local Tour Guides & Ski Instructors in Austria, we identified that the restaurant at the very top of the Ski Resort was the best place for the proposal. The hard part would be persuading Ella, a novice skier, to go to the very top during her very first ski Lesson that Daniel had organised.
We arrived in Austria and made our way to the Ski Resort in Westendorf.
A few hours and couple of Ski Lifts later we were at the summit and had located the Restaurant. The Restaurant gave us a landmark on a completely white canvas and offered a beautiful private setting with a background of snowy trees around the back. It also offered a balcony viewpoint where we could discretely capture the moment without interrupting the private proposal. We set the romantic surprise Picnic scene with a picnic blanket, some photo memories of Daniel and Ella, decorations and of course the all important Champagne. How could you celebrate without Champagne!!!
Once the scene was set we set up our cameras on the balcony and did a practice run.
We then laid out some very discrete love hearts in the snow to guide Daniel in the right direction. A quick text to Daniel to inform him exactly where to go and we were all set.
About 30 minutes later Daniel and Ella arrived and after a few minutes of convincing Ella that the red love hearts in the snow were not danger signs, she agreed to follow Daniel to the back of the restaurant where the romantic setting awaited. Daniel got down on one knee and popped the question to Ella's delight.
It was a really beautiful proposal in such an intimate setting and Ella was completely awestruck by Daniel's amazing proposal. She was lost for words but bowled over with excitement. She said yes and the newly engaged couple toasted the celebration with a glass of Champagne each before retreating to the restaurant for some well earned lunch and a bit of warmth. It was an amazing experience being able to help out this fantastic couple and an honour to be able to witness their amazing proposal.
